Danadjieva & Koenig Associates' design assured Seattle citizens that the industrial development would create a statement in harmony with its surroundings. The environmental mitigation of the treatment facility was inspired by the original West Point natural setting. The guiding images were the topography of Puget Sound's shoreline: reefs at the base of abrupt bluffs, tidal patterns, wooded slopes and wetlands.

The adjacent bluff configuration inspired the design of the curvilinear facility walls.

The pre-existing appearance of the 50-acre West Point Wastewater Treatment Plant site was studied from Puget Sound, the shoreline, and the Discovery Park hillside. Photographs superimposed with a computerized wireframe depiction of the proposed design defined visual mitigation for the development.

Danadjieva & Koenig Associates helped the owner and the client accomplish project objectives, meet bidding requirements, expedite construction, and complete the multi-million dollar West Point Wastewater Treatment Plant under budget and within schedule.
